The Best Shopify Upsell Apps in 2026, Including What Listings Don't Tell You

Heads up:this post contains partner links. If you sign up through one, we may earn a commission at no cost to you. It never changes what we recommend, and we say so when a tool isn't worth it.

Seven upsell and cross-sell apps, every fact from the vendor's own App Store listing, pricing page, or help docs, checked June 10, 2026. Plus the section none of the listings lead with: the Shopify platform rules that decide whether your post-purchase offers display at all. Disclosure: we have a referral relationship with Rebuy and none with the other six; picks don't bend for it.

The picks

Best for most stores: Selleasy (free to 50 orders/month; $9 to $49). 4.9 across 2,390 reviews, the best rating here. Amazon-style frequently-bought-together bundles, cart and post-purchase offers, and a rare policy worth naming: your pricing tier is locked at install for the life of the subscription. No A/B testing that we could find, which is its honest gap.

Best cart platform: Rebuy ($99 to $999+). 4.7 across 823 reviews. Smart Cart is a full cart-drawer replacement (tiered shipping bars, gift with purchase, subscription switching) and the category benchmark, alongside AI recommendations, search, checkout extensions, and A/B testing. Know two things from its critical reviews: billing disputes appear repeatedly, and the free "Monetize" plan shows partner-brand ads on your store. Full three-way comparison.

Best cheap post-purchase funnels: ReConvert ($4.99 to $19.99 listed). 4.8 across 2,835 reviews. Drag-and-drop post-purchase and thank-you page builder with A/B testing on paid tiers. Critical reviews report automatic tier upgrades and billing on all store orders, so watch your invoice as you grow.

Best post-purchase specialist: AfterSell ($34.99 to $99.99). 4.8 across 859 reviews. Smart Funnel AI with segmentation by cart value, tags, language, and UTM. Its own critical reviews flag the structural catch honestly: bills scale with store orders even when offers underperform, and wallet payments skip post-purchase entirely.

Best revenue-aligned pricing: Zipify OneClickUpsell ($8 base, scales with upsell revenue). 4.5 across 520 reviews. You pay more only when it generates more, and it covers the full placement map including a slide-cart drawer. The scaling formula isn't published, so model it before committing.

Best at low volume with split testing: Honeycomb (free to 100 funnel views/month; $54.99 to $169.99). 4.7 across 152 reviews. The free tier includes split tests across product, cart, post-purchase, and thank-you placements, which nothing else here matches at $0.

The rev-share option: Bold Upsell (free with 3.5% of upsell revenue; $10/month drops it to 2.5%). 4.4 across 581 reviews, the lowest here, with critical reviews citing bugs and breakage after updates. The pricing model suits stores that want zero fixed cost and accept the percentage.

The platform rules nobody's listing mentions

Post-purchase one-click upsells are a Shopify checkout extension, and Shopify decides when the page renders. These constraints apply to every app above equally, per the vendors' own help docs:

  • Payments that skip post-purchase entirely: Apple Pay, Google Pay, Amazon Pay, Klarna, Affirm, Afterpay, gift-card-paid orders, and several gateways (Braintree, PayPal Payments Pro, Eway). Shop Pay shows offers normally.
  • Multi-currency orders, orders with duties, and local-delivery orders skip it too.
  • Maximum two post-purchase offers accepted per checkout, minimum order value 50 cents, online store channel only.

The practical move: check your payment-method mix in Shopify analytics first. A store where half the checkouts are Apple Pay should weight cart and product-page placements over post-purchase, no matter which app it picks.

How to choose

  1. Match the placement to your payment mix. Wallet-heavy checkout? Pre-purchase placements carry the weight; post-purchase specialists lose value through no fault of their own.
  2. Price your growth, not your present. The auto-bumping models (ReConvert, AfterSell order tiers, Loox-style overages elsewhere) are where the angry reviews come from. Selleasy's install-time lock and Zipify's revenue alignment are the two structures that can't surprise you.
  3. Buy the platform only when the cart is the project. Rebuy at $99+ makes sense as a program with an owner, not as a widget you set and forget.
  4. Clean product data multiplies all of it. Recommendation engines run on your catalog data, and the same structured data feeds AI shopping assistants deciding what to surface. The free AI readiness check shows what machines currently see in your catalog.
